More Snow
It’s snowing again today. This is the 3rd time since Christmas. So much for “Global Warming”. The high on Friday for us is 8 degrees! Maybe someone should inform Al Gore.
BTW… in honer of the snow, I’ve made a couple of desktop wallpapers. Go to my background screens page to check them out!

Blah!
That’s how I feel right now… blah! I’ve got a really nice cold. Right now I’m at home waiting for my laptop to get here, and feeling bad. Yesterday when I woke up I felt a little bit bad, but not awful. As the day wore on I got worst, and by nightime I felt awful! It snowed all yesterday and it looks like we got 5-6 inches right now. It might snow tomorrow. I watched the DAL/PHI game and was just thrilled w/ the outcome. I already didn’t like the Eagles (mostly because of Donovon McNabb) but when they drafted Micheal Vick, that was it. I really can’t stand the idea of a football team hireing an ex-con. It was also specials to see the PHI shut-out because they are my best friend’s fav team.

Happy New Year!
I can’t believe it…. it’s a new year. It feels like it was just a few months ago that it turned 2009. Amazing. Here’s a video I made last night.

I Hate Waiting…
I’m getting so sick of waiting for my laptop to get here. It would get here tomorrow, except some idiot decided that people should have New Years Day off. UPS doesn’t deliver on Saturday on the kind of shipping that this package is. And nobody delivers on Sunday. So I get to wait till Monday to get this. I was hoping to be able to set it up before I had to start school, but it doesn’t look like that now. Bummer. And all because of New Years.

Just Finished My First Paying Site…
I work for my dad’s web development company, Gazebo Technologies. I finished my first paying site yesterday. It was a website for a natural health company called Designed 4 Healing. I did all the graphic design, coding, and published it. You can click on the screenshot to visit the site.

New Laptop
Yesterday I bought a laptop, “Buy It Now”, on eBay. It was an Asus F8 Series F8SA-X2 Laptop w/ ATI hd2600 and 4GB RAM. I paid $400 for it. It has a 2.2ghz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor, 512mb of dedicated video ram, and a 160 gig hdd. I paid $400 for it. 2 years ago it was going for $1300 on newegg.com w/ 1 gig of ram. I comes w/ Vista Home Premium, but I hope to soon have the money for Windows 7 Ultimate. I had been hoping for a MacBook, but this was a much better deal for what I was getting. Here is a stock photo of it, but when I get it, I’ll take more pics and post them. -

My Public Apology and Christmas
I’m making a public apology for not posting more this month. I try for at least 15 posts a month, but it looks like this month I will only have 6 or 7. But in my defense, you all know how December is, w/ Christmas and everything. It’s crazy.
We went to my dad’s parents house on Christmas Eve Day for our celebration with them. The ham was amazing. After dinner we talked awhile, then I played some Christmas carols on the guitar and my sister played some violin. At that point it was raining outside.
We had our family Christmas when we got back home. It was weird, I enjoyed watching my siblings open their presents more than I enjoyed opening my own. Mom said that I was just getting older. Later on that night it started snowing.
My other set of grandparents came on Christmas Day. We opened the presents that they got then hung out and watched “The Christmas Child”. It was pretty good. It had snowed over night so we played out there for a little while. Here are some pics I took.

DC*B Christmas Letter
This is what showed up in my email inbox today. The David Crowder*Band is so funny.
Well, well, well. It looks like another year has come and gone, and we are still wondering where all that time went! And what a year it has been, too. The DC*B family was stretched and challenged in many ways in the past twelve months, but now that we are at the end of things we’ve realized that it was easily the best year ever! So what has everyone been up to lately?
Well surely you heard of the news about Mike D. Wait, you haven’t heard about Mike D and the snake? It wasn’t enough that he spent a good part of the year completely revitalizing the Waco economy, bringing jobs and homes to many a Baylor University student, but he is now an official card-carrying real estate mogul! Ok, ok, ok, he’s not a mogul, yet, but he’s well on his way to owning about half of the city, and we couldn’t be prouder! And then there was that matter of the snake. He managed to kill a world-record sized genuine Texas rattler right there on his back porch with nothing but his bare hands and a spoon. And he was only bitten twice. Thank the good Lord that he has a natural immunity, or we would have been in the market for a new bassist! Surely you read about it on the cover of USA Today? No? Well, we’ll send you a copy.
The B-wack had an eventful year himself. No doubt you saw his latest creation, Steve-3PO? Let me tell you something, making giant, world changing strides in robotics doesn’t come easy. While the world marveled at the drumming prowess of Steve, it completely overlooked the mayhem wrought by his earlier prototype brother, Roger. Something apparently went wrong once Roger was powered up, and sure enough, he became sentient. At first we were all happy. This was a milestone, no doubt. But that was before Roger burned a couple of capacitors and then went all HAL, you know, crazy-crazy, like the 2001 computer with that creepy red eye. Luckily the damage was confined to some of the lesser wildlife behind the Wacker’s house (and one very unfortunate house cat). The robotic uprising was brought to a halt by none other than Mike D and that spoon of his. Needless to say – a lesson was learned. The good news is that MIT is now calling all the time, and we hear rumors that the Nobel committee is having some serious discussions about their nominations. We are keeping our fingers crossed!
Speaking of keeping fingers crossed, Hogan finally got around to having that surgery, and his fingers are completely back to normal. Unless you looked really closely, you would have no idea that anything had ever happened. What a blessing!! I don’t think we’ll ever have to worry about him trying “The Devil Went Down to Georgia” without warming up first ever again. The DC*B family also grew this year with the newest edition (and Hogan’s first born), Walter. We are all so proud, and are just as in awe as everyone else at what that child has been able to accomplish in 7 short months of life. To think, a National Book Award at such a young age! I guess the apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree! LOL!!
Jack made huge strides this year, and not just in terms of getting completely huge at his local gym. (Which is completely accurate: He has nearly TRIPLED in size. He developed his own workout regimen in combination with a specially formulated meal plan that involves nothing but bananas, peanut butter, Hershey’s Chocolate Bars, and heavy whipping cream. Publishers are now in a bidding war and we are hoping that his “Guide to Getting Jacked” will hit the shelves early in 2010.) We convinced him to enter the National Shredding competition sponsored by our local music store, which he easily won with his mash up of Henry Mancini’s Baby Elephant Walk and Slayer’s Reign in Blood. It was epic. He also mastered the game of golf and won a spot on the PGA tour, which he turned down. Turns out golf isn’t as high class as it used to be…
Mark had another “rough” year, in so much that everything fell into place for him once again. I’ll tell you what, he is lucky! Besides winning a minor sum in the Texas State Lottery with a ticket that he found on the sidewalk (gambling is wrong), he was contacted out of the blue this fall by none other than the remaining Jonas brothers (we don’t know who they are) about replacing a missing Jonas. Who knew? Not us! Apparently, there is a No Bros project that will have one of the brothers occupied for a time and they’re looking for temporary replacements, you know, for appearances on Ellen and such. So, needless to say, Mark has been busy with trips to the county courthouse looking into name changes and such. Of course, we are all really excited that this opportunity fell into his lap, not to mention that he might get to meet Miley Cyrus sometime in the new year. We sure do hope so, because we’ve been carrying around a notebook full of tunes to give her dad for what we see as the Billy Ray comeback of 2010. The mullet shall prevail!
And as for David, his year was more or less normal, up until a week ago. You see, he went on a much-deserved vacation to an undisclosed beach, and in a valiant attempt at going incognito he donned, what he thought to be, the perfect disguise, as seen worn by the late Michael Jackson when the King of Pop wished to go unnoticed – a suit that adds the perception of much bulk to one’s person, most notably in the abdomen and jowls of the body. Dave has been talking about this disguise for months, and we’ll state now, for the record, that we believed the red jacket to be too much. We warned that it made him look short and fat, a feat proving beyond a shadow of a doubt that the disguise does indeed hold magical properties. But once you add in the long beard, well, it just gave the impression that Santa Claus was on a respite before the big night. And turns out that Jolly Old St. Nick is even way more popular than Dave and the King of Pop combined! So the vacation had to be cut short, because a person can only be asked for dancing Elmos and Webkinz so many times before his day is just ruined. But he still managed to get in some good rest. And it’s a good thing, too, because 2010 promises to be even more awesome than the year before!
Anyways, Merry Christmas to all of you out there and remember (as Stryper once sang on the most epic Christmas EP every released) the Reason for the Season. Every space you enter is sacred, you carry the very story of God inside of you and it is active and unfolding no matter where you find yourself. Be redemption. And most importantly, love the person in front of you all season long.
And so Happy Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all!!
Love always,
The DC*B Family

Fireworks CS4
I got Fireworks CS4 yesterday. It’s awesome! I work for my dad’s web business and the company purchased it for their employees (just me and him)…. so I got it. I’ve been using an ancient version of the software, Fireworks MX (2002), so this is quite an upgrade. There are tons of great features that the old version didn’t have. Lots of pre-made styles to make things look like plastic, or metal, or old paper, or just about w/e you can think of. There are pre-built menus, tons of nice included icons, and common library of buttons, check boxes, text boxes, etc for Windows and Mac.
All in all, I really love this software. The interfaces are also very different. CS4 is really nice. Here are the screenshots:
